Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"One of the best sushi restaurants in Rome! The food was delicious every single time, the atmosphere is very peaceful and authentic, the staff is friendly and kind. Definitely recommend it!"
"Great experience, a small language barrier between the staff at the start when ordering but they was able to explain the food when they were being served in simple English and very friendly attitude so the overall experience was pleasant, great meal."
"Good variety of fish, high quality. It's easy to spend too much. I spent €126, including a €29 wagyu tartare, for one person, no drinks. Perhaps I should have gotten the €90 omakase instead. The expensive dishes aren't worth it. Best to stick to basics like salmon, scallop, uni."
"Lovely conveyor belt seating, great variety of japanese specialties. Service was lovely as well. For a change from Pasta in Rome, Sushisen is the place to be."
"Great place for special occasions but also when you want to enjoy 1-2 japanese dishes in a nicer atmosphere. Amazing and complex appetizers. On the other hand some dishes sound nicer than they taste such as the tartare of wagyu, lobster and truffle. Also the basic sashimi or nigiri didn't have the intensity of flavour I was expecting (for the standart). The tuna belly (ventresca di tonno) was melting in your mouth (ecxellent). The japanese edomae cannolo also very tasty and complex. Great gunkan of spiced salmon, nice sea bass tartare and interesting eel (unagi kabayaki). I would return to explore more appetizers and more sushi rolls as they were also quite large (only fried the california which had delicious crab inside). Nice menu of wines, sake and distillates"
"Hands down the best sushi in Rome. We have been coming here for years and has never failed to deliver. The kaiten is ideal for a casual dinner and the offer is always wast and incredibly tasty and innovative. If you would like to have an upscale dinner they also have more reserved area with rich menu. Special thanks to Max that is always kind and most professional and thanks to him too is why we will be coming back here for many years to come."
"I went with my son to have fun at the sushi train seating and it was a sucess The food is tasty, the conveyor belt ia fun, service is friendly, wine list is good. This part of tge restaurant is good for families, kids, friends but also couples. There is a more sophisticated part of the restaurants where i would not reccomend taking kids - for the omakase experience, looks very nice too"
"So much fun. The sushi was fresh and tasty. I'll agree with a previous reviewer that the premium dishes are not necessarily worth the premium. We went as soon as it opened, but it filled up quickly, so maybe make a reservation if you are going to go later. The staff was friendly, helpful and professional. It's made our "When in Rome..." rotation list."
